The periodic table has never been prettier

One of the main gripes with the many 3D televisions out on the market this year is the expense of the required glasses, but a five dollar viewing device transforms The Elements for ipad into what boingboing reviewer Xeni Jardin is calling “stereoscopic scienceporn.” Of particular interest is Jardin’s note that the device requires a little getting used to (I also like the fact that it has to have a printed label that says “view from this side”) and mention of the device’s utility for children’s science education. It makes learning about the periodic table that much more enjoyable.

Thanks to cho for the link (he passed it along, figuring I didn’t have my alerts set to recognize the phrase “stereoscopic scienceporn.” I should do something about that.
